No iZotope or Boris FX sale was running on October 20, 2026. Both US stores charged list price on every product, and iZotope's deals page showed only a Back-to-School banner, a student offer and loyalty prices for logged-in owners. The two windows worth waiting for are iZotope's November sale, which in 2025 opened with an early sale for existing customers on November 14, and Boris FX's Thanksgiving-week sale, which has taken 25% off single products in every dated sale on record since 2016. Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27. If you can't wait, crossgrades for existing owners, the 50% student price and subscriptions all work today, and owners of MAGIX-era Sound Forge or VEGAS Pro can upgrade at one price until December 5, 2026.
This page is for anyone pricing Sound Forge, iZotope or Boris FX tools who has one question: buy now or wait? My rule: if the tool will pay for itself on work you have booked before Thanksgiving, buy now through the cheapest route below. If it's a want rather than a need, wait for the official November terms. Neither company has announced its 2026 offers, and I won't guess them. This is also the first November with iZotope, Sound Forge and VEGAS Pro all owned by Boris FX, so past patterns are a guide, not a promise. When iZotope and Boris FX discount

Retailers add a few smaller windows. Ozone 12 Advanced's price history shows three retailer sales in the 12 months to October 20, 2026, usually 22% off. RX 12 is the opposite case: no store that plugindeals tracks has cut it by 10% or more since tracking began in April 2026. The two Black Friday pages hold the full record:

Paying less for iZotope without a sale
An iZotope owner rarely pays list price. The iZotope loyalty program gives anyone who has bought an iZotope product, Elements included, lower update, upgrade and crossgrade prices after logging in, and nobody has to give up an old license to get them. These routes worked on the US store on October 20, 2026:

The Elements route saves nothing by itself, but it spreads the cost and makes you an owner, and iZotope's loyalty page says even an Elements purchase qualifies for loyalty pricing. That is why the $25 Elements price in the 2026 Summer Sale and the $29 price in the 2024 Black Friday sale mattered more than they looked. One more catch: iZotope's sale terms say e-vouchers can't be combined with special offers.

Boris FX, Sound Forge and VEGAS: list prices to measure a sale against
Boris FX sells its tools as monthly or annual subscriptions and, for most products, as perpetual licenses that include one year of upgrades and support. These are list prices on the Boris FX US store on October 20, 2026; none was discounted.

Three Sound Forge points matter more than any sale percentage:
- The MAGIX-owner upgrade has a deadline. If you own any earlier Sound Forge or VEGAS Pro bought from MAGIX, the upgrade from a MAGIX serial costs $189.95 for Sound Forge, $249.95 for Sound Forge Plus, $143.95 for VEGAS Pro and $199.95 for VEGAS Pro Plus. Boris FX's acquisition announcement says that offer runs until December 5, 2026. Sound Forge 2026 vs Pro 18 covers what changes for a Pro 18 owner and which licenses stay valid.
- VEGAS Pro Plus costs the same as Sound Forge and includes it. Both are $299.95 perpetual or $149.95 a year, and the VEGAS Pro plan comparison lists Sound Forge, Mocha Vegas, the CrumplePop plug-ins and Particle Illusion in Plus. If you also cut video, price that before Sound Forge alone.
- Students get the Boris FX Suite for a $5 fee. The Boris FX student license is a 12-month Suite license for full-time students, for self-learning only, with no commercial use and no automatic renewal. Its product list covers Sapphire, Continuum, Mocha Pro, CrumplePop, Samplitude and Sequoia, but not Sound Forge or VEGAS Pro.

Try before you pay
A trial costs nothing and answers the edition question before a sale forces a quick decision.

Buy now or wait: how I decide
- You own an older MAGIX Sound Forge or VEGAS Pro. Take the single-price upgrade before December 5. It is the one dated Sound Forge offer on the table, and no November terms have been announced to beat it.
- You need RX 12 for paid work now. Buy it, by crossgrade if you own any iZotope product ($349 for Standard). Apart from Plugin Discounts' 10% on Advanced, RX 12 hasn't been 10% or more off at any store plugindeals tracks since April, and it wasn't in the Summer Sale; the past cuts on RX came in November.
- You want Nectar or Neutron. Wait if you can. They had the deepest past cuts (60% and 50% for existing customers in November 2025) and 25% in June.
- You want Ozone 12. Waiting saves less. Owners got 25% in November 2025, Ozone wasn't among that year's public headline offers (the 2024 "up to 60%" did include Ozone 11), and retailer sales on Ozone 12 Advanced usually took about 22%. If you own any iZotope product, the $449 crossgrade to Advanced is already $50 under list.
- You're a student. iZotope's 50% student price applies with no sale running and beats the "up to 40%" public offers of November 2025. Boris FX's $5 Suite license is for learning, not paid work.
- You have a paid job before November. Pay for a month (iZotope Pro is $25, Sound Forge $24.95) and decide on a perpetual license once the November terms are public.
- You edit video as well as audio. Price VEGAS Pro Plus before Sound Forge alone: it costs the same and includes it.
Sound Forge itself is the one purchase I wouldn't delay for a hypothetical discount if your work needs it today: the 15-day trial settles the edition, and the monthly plan covers the gap until November.
