Boris FX Black Friday 2026: Past Sales, Current Prices and When to Buy

Guide navigation Table of contents Sections

Note the list price for your exact product and host before Thanksgiving week.

Boris FX hasn't announced a 2026 Black Friday sale yet, and every product in its US store is selling at list price. Every dated Boris FX Black Friday since 2016 took 25% off single products, every one with a published start opened in Thanksgiving week, and four ran past their first announced end date. VEGAS Pro, Sound Forge and ACID Pro reach their first Black Friday under Boris FX this year, so the deep MAGIX-era discounts on those programs are not a guide to what comes next.

My advice depends on when you need the software. If a project needs the tool before late November, buy it now: the documented upside of waiting is a quarter off, not half. If you own a MAGIX copy of VEGAS Pro or Sound Forge, the Boris FX upgrade price for MAGIX serials is already set and runs until December 5, 2026, and nothing published says a Black Friday discount would come on top of it. If you are a new buyer who can wait five weeks for a perpetual license or an annual plan, waiting is reasonable, as long as you treat 25% as history rather than a promise. The other dated audio offers I follow are collected on the audio software deals page.

Is there a Boris FX Black Friday sale in 2026?

Not yet. On October 20, 2026, all 153 US price entries in the Boris FX store, across 18 product families from Sapphire to ACID Pro, charged exactly their list price. A second read of the same store data later that afternoon showed no change. The old sale address on borisfx.com forwards to the homepage, and the VEGAS Creative Software US sale address shows the regular VEGAS homepage. Neither the Boris FX homepage nor the company's official Instagram feed carries a 2026 Black Friday announcement.

Here is the 2026 calendar that matters for planning. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, Black Friday on November 27 and Cyber Monday on November 30. The Monday of Thanksgiving week is November 23. Boris FX sales opened on that Monday in 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025, but for 2026 it is calendar arithmetic, not a date Boris FX has given.

The question also covers more products than it used to. The Boris FX product family now runs from the VFX plug-ins the company is known for to VEGAS Pro, Sound Forge, ACID Pro, Samplitude, Sequoia, Music Studio and CrumplePop. iZotope is part of Boris FX as well, and existing iZotope licenses and subscriptions remain active. Its sale record is separate, so I keep its terms and prices on the iZotope Black Friday guide.

Boris FX Black Friday history, 2016 to 2025

The table lists every Boris FX Black Friday with published dates and terms, and each row links to the announcement or listing behind it. No dated terms for 2017, 2018 or 2019 turned up in the published record, so those years are left out rather than guessed. The 2022 and 2023 start dates were not published either.

Two patterns stand out. The single-product discount never moved off 25%, and every sale with a published start opened in Thanksgiving week. What changed is the fine print: no dated sale since 2021 has documented a 50% bundle tier, and the recent terms are written around new purchases.

Timeline of Boris FX Black Friday sale windows for 2016 and 2020 to 2025, with start dates, first announced end dates, later end dates, the 25% single-product discount for each year, 50% bundle tiers in 2016, 2020 and 2021, and the 2026 Black Friday and Cyber Monday dates with no sale announced
Each sale with a published start opened in Thanksgiving week, and four of the six sales from 2020 to 2025 ran past their first announced end.

Test results: what seven Boris FX sales discounted

The composite result below pools the published terms from 13 dated sources covering seven sale years, counting each year once. It is unusually tight.

The 25% figure appears in every one of the 13 sources, from the 2016 reseller notice to Boris FX's own 2025 post announcing 25% off any product for one week. Several things are deliberately left out of the composite: undated "30% off" video and blog titles, affiliate headlines such as "up to 55%" or "up to 60%" that fold the bundle tier into one number, an undated preview page, and MAGIX-era discounts on VEGAS and Sound Forge, which belong to a different owner.

My reading of the record: the storewide 25% tier is the number to plan around. If 2026 follows the pattern, and nothing official says it will, a bundle discount deeper than 25% would break with the last four dated sales, none of which documented one.

Who qualified: new licenses, upgrades, renewals and subscriptions

The headline percentage stayed fixed, but the eligibility rules moved. These are the terms to read before planning a purchase around the sale.

    • New perpetual licenses were covered in every dated sale, and subscriptions are named in the 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025 terms. A perpetual license includes 12 months of upgrades and support, so a discounted perpetual carries that first year too.
    • Monthly subscriptions were discounted for the first month only in 2020 and 2024, with later months at list price. If you want the discount to last, the annual plan is the one to time.
    • Upgrades or renewals were included in 2016, 2020 (US renewals) and 2021. In 2024 the limit was one new product purchase per customer, and a 2025 reseller note said the offer was valid for new licenses and new subscriptions only. No sale after 2021 documents an upgrade or renewal discount.
    • One product per customer applied in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Decide which single license matters most before the window opens.
    • Node-locked licenses were the only type covered in 2016 and 2020, and the 2025 reseller note named node-locked annual subscriptions and perpetual licenses. Plan on a node-locked license if you want the sale price.
    • No code was required in 2024: ProVideo Coalition noted no discount code needed and the sale price marked in the store.
Decision path for Boris FX purchase options: owners of a MAGIX serial go to Upgrade from Magix Serial, owners of a current Boris FX perpetual license go to Upgrade and Support Renewal, and new buyers choose between a monthly subscription, an annual subscription and a perpetual license
Past sales covered new licenses most reliably; monthly plans were discounted for the first month only in 2020 and 2024.

Owners of a MAGIX serial for VEGAS Pro, Sound Forge, ACID Pro, Samplitude, Sequoia or Music Studio have a separate store option, Upgrade from Magix Serial, which is priced now. The product sections below list it.

These are US list prices in the Boris FX store on October 20, 2026, with no sale active. Use them as the baseline when a sale price appears. Plug-in prices depend on the host, so check the row for the host you actually use.

Sapphire, Continuum and Mocha Pro: where waiting pays most

These are the products with the full sale history. The dated sales were storewide, and the 2023, 2024 and 2025 listings name Sapphire, Continuum and Mocha Pro explicitly. So the "Mocha Pro Black Friday" question has the same answer as the storewide one: 25% off in those three years, and the earlier dated sales from 2016 to 2022 also put single products in a 25% tier.

The absolute saving grows with the license. On the $3,075 all-hosts Sapphire perpetual, 25% would be $768.75; on the $365 Continuum license for Final Cut Pro it would be $91.25. If you are buying a perpetual multi-host license, timing the purchase is worth the most.

The one-product limit in past sales changes how I would prepare. You cannot fix a wrong host choice with a second discounted license, so settle the product and host before the window opens. If you are still choosing between the two effects packages, my Continuum vs Sapphire comparison covers that decision. For tracking, Mocha Pro comes in one-host, all-plug-in-host and standalone versions, and the Mocha Pro price guide walks through each license and host option.

The Boris FX Suite is a different calculation. It is subscription only today, at $219 per month or $1,495 per year, and in 2020 it sat in the 25% tier rather than the 50% bundle tier. For a Suite buyer, the annual plan is the version where a sale discount would carry beyond the first month.

VEGAS Pro Black Friday: the first one under Boris FX

Boris FX announced its purchase of VEGAS Pro, Sound Forge and ACID Pro from MAGIX on March 30, 2026, so 2026 is the first Black Friday for VEGAS under Boris FX. There are no Boris FX sale terms for VEGAS to look back on. The discounts that appear in "VEGAS Pro Black Friday" results come from the MAGIX years. VEGAS Pro 22 upgrades were up to 49% off until December 1, 2024. In the German store in 2025, an affiliate blog recorded VEGAS Pro 23 at €149.99 instead of €219.99. Those were another company's editions and prices.

EditionWhat it addsMonthlyAnnualPerpetualUpgrade & Support RenewalUpgrade from Magix Serial

VEGAS Pro UltimateEverything in Plus, with Continuum, Mocha Pro, CrumplePop SoundApp, Optics$39.95$199.95$499.95$249.95Not offered

One store detail is worth knowing. The March launch release described Ultimate as subscription only, but the store now also lists a $499.95 perpetual license and a $249.95 renewal for it. The perpetual-or-subscription choice matters more for VEGAS than for the plug-ins, because the same release marks offline Speech-to-Text, offline Text-to-Speech and the Storyblocks media library as available exclusively with VEGAS Pro subscriptions.

Three-step ladder from VEGAS Pro to VEGAS Pro Plus to VEGAS Pro Ultimate, listing the tools each edition adds and the US annual and perpetual list prices for each step
Plus is where Sound Forge and CrumplePop arrive; Ultimate adds Continuum and Mocha Pro. Prices are US list prices on October 20, 2026.

For a MAGIX owner, the decision is already made: Upgrade from Magix Serial covers VEGAS Pro and VEGAS Pro Plus, and the offer runs until December 5, 2026. For a newcomer, checking Thanksgiving week first costs little, but with no Boris FX history for VEGAS, list price is the honest baseline. If the plug-ins in Ultimate are the reason you are looking, my VEGAS Pro plugins guide covers the add-on route before you choose an edition.

Sound Forge and ACID Pro Black Friday

Sound Forge and ACID Pro are in the same position as VEGAS: they changed owner in March 2026 and have no Boris FX Black Friday history. Their US list prices on October 20, 2026:

ProductMonthlyAnnualPerpetualUpgrade & Support RenewalUpgrade from Magix Serial
    Sound Forge$24.95$149.95$299.95$189.95$189.95
    Sound Forge Plus$33.95$199.95$399.95$249.95$249.95
    ACID Pro$12.95$69.95$149.95$89.95$89.95

Sound Forge Plus includes Celemony Melodyne 5 Essentials, Vandal, VariVerb II and 3D Reverb. Whether those extras justify the $100 perpetual gap is covered in Sound Forge vs Sound Forge Plus, and the Sound Forge pricing guide explains every plan in detail.

The large numbers attached to these names are MAGIX history. In 2025 MAGIX sold the Sound Forge Pro 18 Suite for $239 instead of $599 through December 7, 2025. In 2023 its sale advertised up to 80% off Sound Forge products and up to 97% off ACID Pro 11 and ACID Music Studio. Those were older editions, another company's price list and "up to" headlines. Boris FX has not run a Sound Forge or ACID sale yet, and its own record across the VFX lines is 25%.

If you edit audio for a living and need Sound Forge now, I would buy it now. A MAGIX Sound Forge owner should use the Magix-serial upgrade, which costs the same $189.95 as the standard renewal and is offered until December 5, 2026.

    Samplitude, Sequoia and Music Studio

These three moved to Boris FX earlier: the company announced the purchase of Sequoia, Samplitude and Music Studio from MAGIX on August 21, 2025, three months before the 2025 sale. That sale was announced as 25% off any product, but none of the published listings names Samplitude, Sequoia or Music Studio, so their inclusion is undocumented. Older "Samplitude Black Friday" and "Sequoia Black Friday" results, like older ACID ones, describe MAGIX sales.

    ProductMonthlyAnnualPerpetualUpgrade from Magix Serial
    Samplitude$25$145$395$185
    Sequoia$95$595$1,695$595
    Music StudioNo monthly plan$35$95$45

If you own a MAGIX serial, these upgrade prices are available now, and I would not hold a Sequoia upgrade for a sale that has never been documented for it. Before paying $185 for a Samplitude upgrade, read the Samplitude review for what changed since Pro X8 and what X8 owners lose. For the rest of the company's audio range, the Boris FX audio hub groups the editors, DAWs and repair tools in one place.

    CrumplePop and Audio Plugin Union

CrumplePop lists in the same store at $25 per month, $175 per year or $345 perpetual, with a $195 Upgrade & Support Renewal. VEGAS Pro Plus includes CrumplePop and Ultimate adds CrumplePop SoundApp, so a VEGAS buyer may already get it inside an edition. None of the dated Black Friday listings above names CrumplePop, so the only guide is the 2025 "any product" wording. If you are still choosing a cleanup tool, decide that before the sale with the CrumplePop vs iZotope RX comparison.

Audio Plugin Union is a different case. Boris FX presents it as three suites: wizardFX with 11 plug-ins, coreFX, and colorFX with 3 plug-ins. That page shows no price, and the US store data on October 20, 2026 had no Audio Plugin Union product family at all. With no list price, there is nothing to measure a sale against yet.

Boris FX Cyber Monday and sale extensions

No dated year shows a separate Boris FX Cyber Monday price. The Black Friday window simply ran through Cyber Monday, and four times the end date moved later:

Do not plan around an extension. In 2025 a reseller wrote that the discount would not be extended, and CG Channel still listed it until December 5. Nobody outside Boris FX knows in advance. For 2026, Cyber Monday is November 30: if a sale has opened by then, I would buy by that date and treat any extra days as a bonus.

Buy now or wait for Black Friday?

Here is how I would decide, by buyer type.

    If you areMy callWhy
Needing the tool before Thanksgiving weekBuy now at list priceThe documented upside is 25%; a stalled project costs more than that
A MAGIX owner of VEGAS Pro or Sound ForgeUse Upgrade from Magix SerialThe price is set now and the offer runs until December 5, 2026; nothing published says a sale would stack on it

New to VEGAS Pro, Sound Forge or ACID ProWait only if the timing is freeNo Boris FX sale history yet; list price is the baseline

The next step is simple. On Monday, November 23, 2026, open the Boris FX store and compare the price for your exact product and host with the list prices above; in 2024 the sale price showed in the store without a code. If nothing has changed by Cyber Monday, November 30, buy at list price when the work needs the tool. A sale that has not been announced is not a reason to delay a job.
